Practice for Trauma Therapy & Crisis Support
FAQs
Questions and Answers
Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions about my practice, the sessions, and the therapeutic services I offer.
There is no general answer to this question. Every person has a very individual history and capacity for healing, and no two traumas are exactly alike. In general, the more recent and isolated a trauma is, the faster it can be processed. A relatively healthy and resilient adult nervous system is better able to process trauma than a nervous system that is already under strain or still developing. In my experience, however, improvements can often be felt relatively quickly.
The frequency of sessions is also very individual. Clients often begin with weekly sessions to build momentum in the process and then switch to sessions every two weeks.
Other clients choose to have sessions less frequently from the outset.
This can also be decided again after each session. It is important to trust your own intuition. I like to compare it to a billiard ball: as long as the ball is still rolling, there is no need to push it again. Once it has come to a stop, you can decide when you would like to set it in motion again.
The costs are not covered by statutory health insurance. Reimbursement may be possible through private health insurance or supplementary insurance that covers psychotherapy services provided by Heilpraktiker practitioners.
In addition, various funds, such as victim support funds, as well as employers’ liability insurance associations may cover the costs.
At the moment, it depends somewhat on the available time slots. Otherwise, it also depends on whether you would like an appointment at the Prenzlauer Berg practice (Monday and Tuesday) or in Wilmersdorf (Wednesday to Friday), and how flexible you are regarding the time of day.
An initial consultation is not strictly necessary, but it has proven to be helpful.
On the one hand, it gives us the opportunity to find out whether we are a good fit. On the other hand, many questions about the therapeutic approach and your individual concerns can be discussed in advance, allowing you to begin the first actual session well prepared.
